Defend the right to strike, 1 February

DEFEND THE RIGHT TO STRIKE, 1230, Wednesday 1 February, Brunel Square, Bath (next to Bath Spa train station)

The Tory government is proposing a vicious attack on the most basic right of workers: the right to withdraw our labour in defence of our pay and working conditions. The Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill will let employers sack striking workers and drive their unions into bankruptcy.

On 1 February, five unions (RMT, NEU, ASLEF, PCS, and UCU) will be taking UK-wide strike action in their respective disputes. On that day, the TUC has called for all trade unionists to take to the streets in defence of the right to strike.

Bath Trades Union Council asks trade unionists and anyone else concerned to defend basic civil liberties to assemble at Brunel Square, Bath (next to Bath Spa train station), at 1230 on Wednesday 1 February.

Across the UK, workers will be standing up for the basic right to strike. Come and join us.
